With a heavy heart I must say that I will be letting go of Mels Dancing Divas. I have decided to focus my energy into the next new chapters and challenges that await me in the near future.
It’s not easy to close this chapter of the beautiful Mels Dancing Divas. I feel like I’ve spread a little bit of my dancing seeds in each one of the divas and I want you to know that I was the luckiest of them all because I held the greatest view. I created this project from scratch and I’ve watched it blossom into a beautiful garden.
Mels Dancing Divas was ongoing for it’s running time of 2 years and 8 months. It was successful because it was filled with several ingredients, two of them being love and passion, and with this, you helped contribute to our garden. We were also successful because we were persistent, determined and extremely loved by many at every level. And most importantly, because we worked together AS A TEAM.
Divas, you lit up endless evenings for my dancing heart and you allowed my imagination to run wild. You were there for my every inspiration and inspired me when I needed it. You were the beautiful wooden brushes that allowed me to paint the wild designs in my mind. I’m proud of your accomplishments and know I will be near you in spirit to remind you to ‘beam that golden smile’, ‘point your toes’, and ‘blend your make up’.
I’m also glad I was able to push you out of your comfort zone and train you until you moaned. Individually you accomplished many things but together we accomplished great works of art. We were really a close team and I hope we can continue to be great team players for one another. I’m sure we’ll see each other on the dance floor and when we do, it will be nothing but lovely moments as we rejoice and reminisce of our time. I’m grateful for the experiences and memories, they will always remain close to me. Besides, my hard drive holds the last golden smile as it contains many recent beautiful memories of us all and throughout the years.
So next time you buckle your rhinestoned shiny shoes, think about how the 1st stone started, about your lovely time in MDD and don’t forget to send me an air kiss back. And then dance in your shoes like you’ve never danced before! Never stop learning, stay humble and know you can achieve anything you want as long as you put your 100% concentration, focus, positivity, love and passion into it.
With shiny shoes on my feet, a piece of cheese in my mouth, happy tears in my eyes and endless memories of our times together, I hope you feel as blessed as I am.
I want to thank our readers, fans, friends, and countless supporters!
Thank you to Sandra & Dendi Caballero of Son Latino Tanzschule (sonlatino.de) for your everlasting love and support. I also want to thank Roberto Fasiello of San Juan Club, Ogün Özkutlu of Salsa Akademie (salsa-akademie-heidelberg.de), Adrienn of Salsa Lace (salsalace.com), Esra & Hande of Espeki (espeki.com), Zornitza Kozarova, DJ Keno Marz, Photographers: Volker Heitmann, Oliver Eichin and Valentin Behringer, all the promoters who supported us and our family members.
I especially want to thank our executive Diva, Paola Parnizzari. She was with the Divas from the very 1st audition that took place at San Juan Club in April of 2012 until our last reunion that took place last night at the Son Latino Dance School. You are the best at everything you do! MDD’s been quite the journey for us- 4 seasons, 33 dancers, performed and traveled to countless cities and numerous countries all in the love of a 5 minute show and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
“I’ve traveled each and every highway, and more, much more than this, I did it my way.” – FS
